Great story, great writing.

The Seal of Solomon (Alfred Kropp, #2) by Rick Yancey

I think what Yancey does best, though, is the characterization of Alfred. Life has just gotten from bad to worse for Alfred Kropp.

It has quite a bit of action, but at some times it rambles on for a little too long. They have gazed upon the very face of God, the face they will see no more for all eternity-and so I pity them. He believes he’s hit bottom until he is kidnapped, first by rogue OIPEP agent Mike Arnold, then by the Office of Interdimensional Paradoxes and Extraordinary Phenomena itself, at which point his classmates’ harassment seems idyllic by comparison.

The stakes seem bigger in this book as the enemy is one of literal biblical proportions fallen angels imprisoned for thousands of years by the Seal of Solomon and Alfred has to endure much to succeed in this second outing of Alfred Kropp. Dengan adegan kejar2an menggunakan mobil salju yang dimodifikasi di tengah gurun Sahara, tembak2an antar pasukan agen OIEP dengan legion iblis, serta aksi laga over-the-top lainnya, gue bener2 tenggelam dalam cerita ini sampe selesai.


So, the plot, to me, was ten times better than the first. I discovered Rick Yancey through his Monstrumologist series, which is, imho, one of the best YA fiction series and some of the best horror writing I’ve ever read.

I hi I love Alfred Kropp’s voice; he is what makes this series so much fun! It is a fun book that could appeal to reluctant readers, especially boys, but could also cross over to many other types of readers.

This is not an action book featuring a teen main character that attempts to pander to readers, or ride on Alex Rider’s coattails. The Seal of Solomon has kept the fallen angels of heave “Alfred Kropp: With this one, I like how the author withholds the information and suddenly drops it to you like a bomb in perfect timing to give the readers the effects he wanted.

The title should be at least 4 characters long. For thousands of years the Seal has been guarded by angels of heaven which have been locked up in a secret vessel in a secret place.

Alfred must find a way to right his wrong and save the world from imminent destruction. Alfred is endearing and funny, and epitomizes the hero in all of us. The Heart of Betrayal. However, this book only uses elements of that, and focuses on Alfred and company fighting demons who get released into the world I won’t say why because of spoilers. A Court of Mist and Fury.


A fun action adventure fantasy novel which has some great internal struggles and worldwide panic, also ends on a higher note for our hero than the last book did. Things have just settled down for Alfred, when he’s suddenly kidnapped and forced to face a terrible threat–the Seal of Solomon.

Compared to the first book, this feels underwhelming. Lists with This Book. Unfortunately, though, there are a few things that bugged me and prevented from this sseal from getting a full 5 stars from me. But even so a great read, like the first it took me back to being a teenager in a good way and it’s just a rollicking romp of a tale.
