Ka’s weekly magazine Navasakthi and the noted Tamil writer Kalki Nvels. With their encouragement he wrote his first short story titled Shantha Seelan. Encouraged by this success Sandilyan started learning the Tamil language formally from a Tamil Pandit named Thirukannapuram Srinivachariar.
